January 30, 2009

Okay, here we are! Three generations of family. My folks were here from mid-October until about January 15th. We tried to keep them busy with kids and all of our regular activities. Grandpa went to every Judo lesson with Paul and Grandma kept us in fruit and beans the whole time she was here! (whether we liked it or not!) We had dinner on this evening with our neighbors and friends,

Gayle and Don. What we really want to know is who the bigger kids are? Everybody had fun and we wanted to plan to do it again but work and life have other plans for us.

Break is over and we've been back to school for two weeks or so. The kids are buried in homework, Wendell has a cold, and I am trying to come up with new designs to keep my business afloat through this crazy time in which we live. Spent a good portion of my day making fragment pieces to work up into earrings that I can sell for between $3 & $7. Just because we have an economic mess on our hands doesn't mean we girls give up all our pretty things! It means we don't have $100's of dollars to spend but we might have a few bucks for something to make us feel better. So that's what I'm doing is trying to come up with things that don't cost anyone a fortune. I know that I don't have that kind of money either. I'll take a few pics when I get them made.

I also want to introduce everyone to my new shop at:

1000 Markets

Here you'll find more of my funky stuff and one of a kind pieces. These are also things that I travel with so if you find me at a show I will have them displayed. Take a few minutes while you're there to poke around at all the great artwork, mixed media, photography, etc. It's a fabulous mix of all handmade items. I've had an Etsy shop since early 2007 but there's nothing in it. I don't know why but I've had severe mental block with Etsy or e-shock or something. I just can't seem to list anything. But when and if I work up the nerve I'm thinking that I may put some of my simpler things there, maybe a few charm bracelet kits, and I have tons of de-stash I need to do something with. Stay tuned as I try to overcome my mental block.

So, what are you doing? How's the year shaping up? I wish everyone the very, very best through all the challenges of this year. Drop me note and keep in touch!

Please note that I have three blogs going on these days. This one will be a mix of the creative, family, and mental notes as they come up. When you visit 1000 Markets you can also read through my more creative blog. Then, last but not least, you can visit my most public blog which may be a copy of this or a combination of both of the above. I haven't decided completely yet and wish me luck that I can keep everything as current as possible.

Until next time!
