September 25, 2008 First thing I should let everyone know is that I will not be at the Carlsbad Street Fair in November. They had placed me on a waiting list for a spot and I decided to decline my spot today. My calendar is overflowing and with the opportunity to teach at Deb's store, The Stampin' Post, my days are full. So, I will reapply for the spring show and let you know how that goes. Other than that we have been busy, busy with school activities over the past several weeks. Our fundraiser, Urban Nights, was a success. This week we have movie night. It never ends! For the fundraiser I designed a few pieces of jewelry based on our mascot the Monarch butterfly. Soon I'll post a page with all the pictures so any of you from Lisa J. Mails can take a peek. The next show on the calendar is the first annual gathering at Stamping Details in Poway on October 4th from 9 am to 5 pm. The gals at the store are EXTREMELY talented so please come visit if you have a free moment. We would love to see you and make sure you check out the store. Dian, the owner, has all bases covered from rubber stamps, to inks, to paint to Golden products, and a fabulous calendar full of classes. Don't miss it! Here we are at the Bernardo Winery All Jewelry Show a couple weekends ago. It was only 102 degrees in the shade...! Thanks to everyone that stopped by to say hello regardless of the heat! More to come!!
September 13, 2008 Guess what? I opened my e-mail late yesterday afternoon and there was a note from a gal named Deb, the owner of our little mixed media/stamp store in Temecula called the Stampin' Post. She chose some dates for my class proposal and I am actually going to teach some of you! Whoopeee! How exciting is that? The class will be, "Teeny Tiny Doll Adornments" and here is a sample:
These are all earrings measuring from about 1 1/2" to 2" long. Aren't they fun!? This is what we will be making in the class. You will learn the ins and outs of shrink plastic, rubber stamping, and some jewelry basics to make your very own Teeny Tiny Dolls to take home! The dates are posted in my October event calendar and also the November calendar so you can make plans. Not completely positive what the price will be but will be somewhere in the $35 range. (can verify that in a couple of days) Can't wait to see all of you and create!! September 2, 2008 Okay, you caught me! I skipped over July and August completely...ugh! Can you spell crazy? Or not motivated? Or eeeeeeek! Not sure what it was but I missed both months and now I'm going on to the present! September, can you believe it? I actually have my first show this coming weekend and I can't believe it's actually here already. Our kids started school over two weeks ago! We are officially in the swing! How about you?
We took time in August to go where no man has gone before...no, not really, but we did go to the Air and Space Museum for a peek at the Star Trek Exhibit. The best part was beaming out of the transporter room! Yes, we had our picture taken and with the help of some textured plastic coating, we look as if we are beaming up!
This is another of those pictures plus one more...
How exciting to sit in Captain Kirk's actual chair! All the buttons on the consoles were glued into place because people are constantly stealing them. That was our big outing. Other than that I have been working on new designs, day in and day out!
New spiders...
...new winged Witches...
...or non-winged with black cat. These are just the beginning. Everything I've put
together since June will be limited edition with , maybe, fifteen pairs of
earrings in each design, most times less. (all are signed and numbered
unless I run out of room!)
Let them have ears! Marie for your ear...
Perhaps you prefer something that flies or Polkas... Many of you have asked me for a larger necklace selection and I'm working on that too. Most of those are OOAK (one of a kind) and can be re-made if you fall in love with something that has already sold but it will never be exactly the same. So... My first show is this weekend at the:
Come take a peek at all the new designs, it will be the first time some of them have been let out of the house! S P.S. Stay tuned for my teaching schedule...yes, I said teaching! I really did it this time and have committed to teach a class in Temecula (maybe two if it all goes well) More to come! |
