TA DAAAA...!!!

No, I truly haven't forgotten about my blog but boy, have we been on fast forward since May. Phew...! Let's see if I can give you the Cliff note version...

  • my last post was just before the Bernardo Winery Show (Mother's Day weekend) and that was great! Wonderful spot, perfect weather, and lots of people around. It continues to be my favorite place of all!

  • we crescendo'd from that into all the things that get us to the end of the school year. Volunteering, end of year gifts, special events, shopping, awards ceremonies, etc. Basically you run around with your head cut off until the last day or until someone tells you it's okay to stop!

  • the first weekend of June was the show in Montrose, California. Another great weekend and the picture above is myself and friend/show assistant, Ginger. We had a great time even though it started out challenging. Our other partner in crime, April of Aprils Studio, had a flat tire on her trailer on the way to the show Saturday morning. Ugh...Ginger rode with her so she had some moral support but stuff like that sets you into a dither no matter. But she made it with time to spare, set up and sold all day!

There she is sitting down recovering from her flat!!!

  • two days after the show our house hosted a dozen of our Junior Girl Scout troop for their end of year party and Luau. I would show you some pics but unfortunately I don't have permission from all of our parents. You'll have to take my word for how cute everyone was.

  • a week later the same group took off for a day at Disneyland. We started with a seminar on light, reflection, projection, magnetism, energy, etc. with a guide then took off through California Adventure. We rode rides, lunched, got wet, climbed rock walls, and followed the Electrical Parade out of the park into the parking lot. When all was said and done we were gone 16 hours...!

  • somewhere in all of this we still found time to feed and clothe ourselves, attend a birthday party, take another art class, visit the kids new school, get to the orthodontist, spend an evening with our new neighbors, and steal an hour or two to relax.

I think that brings me close to today (although I'm not completely positive).

Sunday was class day for me and I took off for Stamping Details in Poway. A fabulous gal, Deb, taught us all how to solder microscope slide jewelry...woo hoo!!!! I have tried this soldering thing for days in a row with no luck whatsoever. The pieces come out gloppy, burnt, just horrible. Well, not anymore thanks to Deb. We collaged for awhile, taped for a bit then hit the soldering iron. Deb kept telling us, "it's easy...," so I tried to keep an open mind. Guess what? It was easy and the way she demonstrated everyone had a wearable piece when they left. It's all I've been doing since... If you want to do this kind of work, go see Deb, she'll get you on the right track!

"The View From The Edge"

Needless to say we've found time to sit in the pool. The weather here has been hovering around 100 degrees (or higher) for the last week or more. It's just last night that it cooled down enough we thought we could sleep a bit better.

Took some random pictures with my new camera.

...not completely enthused about my picture taking...

...still not thrilled but willing subject matter...

...the inside of our tired but colorful umbrella...

...nice when things don't scowl at you....

...aren't these exciting?!?

One more...

...had enough?

Well, for now that's my update. We'll see what the next few days beings our way.

Chat soon and keep in touch...
